Centres are reminded that in order to meet the requirements of the specification candidates should be able to respond to both one or more unprepared texts. Centres are reminded that in line with the requirements of the GCSE English (1203) specification, students’ responses to "one or more unprepared media texts" will be assessed (page 12 of the specification). When using question papers in preparation with students, teachers should ensure that candidates are aware of the requirements of the specification.
