| Why have my emails stopped arriving? | |
| Answer: | It is important to bear in mind that email alerts are only sent if changes have been made to content within the relevant section of the website. In some cases, particularly when the topic you have subscribed to is very specific, there may not be changes for a number of months and, consequently, you will not receive any alerts for that topic during that period. If you suspect that this is not the reason you have ceased to receive alerts you should first check that you are still subscribed. You can do this by going to your Profile page and checking which alerts you are currently subscribed to. Secondly, check that the email address you used when registering is your current one. If you have since switched to another address, you will need to update the email address associated with your email alerts account (or visit http://alerts.edexcel.org.uk/changeemail.aspx). It is also possible that you have stopped receiving our email because they are ‘bouncing’. This means that our email messages are being blocked by your email software or by your email service provider. If you use a ‘spam’ filter you should check that alerts@alerts.edexcel.org.uk is not included in the list of barred addresses. It may help to add this address to your personal address book as, with some spam filters, this can ensure that our messages are sent to your inbox. |

| Question: | Why have I not started receiving my emails? |
| Answer: | If you have subscribed to an Edexcel email alert but have not received any website update messages, it may be that you have not yet confirmed your registration. When you register as a new user of the service, you should receive a validation message to confirm your email address. You will need to follow the personalised link in this message to activate your account. It is only after this has been done that we can start sending your regular emails. If you continue not to receive email alerts, please send an email to alerts@edexcel.org.uk describing the problem. |

| Question: | How do I change the email address to which my alerts are sent? |
| Answer: | Sign into your email alerts account using your original email address and password. You can then change your email address by clicking on the ‘Change my registered email’ link, under the heading ‘My account settings’. On the following page, re-enter your old email address together with your new email address, then click on the ‘change email address’ button and you will start receiving alerts at your new email address. |

| Question: | I am going on holiday. Can I stop my emails for a short time? |
| Answer: | If you want to minimise the build up of messages in your email account when you are away from work, you can temporarily suspend your account - you will not receive emails while your account is suspended. To do this, visit your profile page to 'Temporarily suspend your account'. You can then reactivate your account when you wish to start receiving emails again. |

| Question: | Some of the links within my email don't work. Why not? |
| Answer: | The links in our email alerts are designed to fit into a single line of an email message. If a long link has wrapped onto two lines in the message, then the link may not work when you try to click on it. If this is the case, copy and paste the entire link address into a text document, clean up the link by removing any line breaks or spaces from the address and then paste the link into your browser's address field |

| Question: | Why am I told that an email account for this address already exists? |
| Answer: | If you are trying to register for our email alerts service as a new user and you are told that an email account for your address already exists, first check that you have typed your email address correctly. If the address is correct, then it means that an Edexcel user account has already been created for you. Please note that all users of our ‘Edexcel Online’ site will have an existing account. If you already have an account but you are unable to sign into it, you can request a new password. |

| Question: | I've forgotten my password. What do I do? |
| Answer: | You can request a new password by entering your email address in the ‘forgotten password’ page. You can also use the ‘Forgotten password’ link on the main sign in screen to get to this page. We will send a new password to your email address straight away. When you receive it, we suggest you log into your account and change the password to something you will remember easily. |
