A delegation from the Malaysia Examinations Syndicate visited Edexcel for three days at the beginning of November. The delegation was led by Ms Paisah Yussoff and Mr Arshad Aliman from the MES and consisted of a group of senior MES Subject Leaders in Engineering and ICT related subjects. The MES Subject Leaders met a group of Edexcel Senior Examiners in these subjects and conducted a review of ICT and Engineering question papers from the MES. The Edexcel Examiners compared the standard of these papers with comparable question papers in the UK and two additional Examiners reviewed the standard of English in the examination papers. The recommendations of the Edexcel Examiners will be taken into account when the final versions of the examination papers are published.
This is the third year in succession that the visit has taken place. ‘The Examiners from both Malaysia and the UK have found this collaboration very useful and hope that it will continue in the future,’ said David Davies, Edexcel’s Global Relationship Manager.
