Edexcel is pleased to have met the demanding reporting conditions arising from the Qualifications & Curriculum Authority audit within their stipulated time period.

New Chief Executive, John Kerr, said: "Complying with the challenges of the Audit supports the progress already being made at Edexcel. I am committed to do everything in my power to improve performance. The steps I have already taken include:

• A reorganisation of the management of the examination process
• Significant investment in new technology
• The establishment of a new post-examination team and procedures to work more closely with schools and colleges on appeals
• A new customer contact management team to deal more effectively with queries.

"As the amount of testing increases all our efforts are focused on the service we provide to schools, colleges and students. We will continue to work closely with the QCA to improve our delivery of examinations."
